The head of Political Affairs in Eritrea’s ruling party – PFDJ, Mr. Yemane Ghebreab, in his latest interview with the Voice of America (VOA) Tigrinya service disclosed that Sudan didn’t participated in the infamous July 4th IGAD summit in Addis Ababa, and in fact it later strongly rejected the final communiqué that calls for another round of sanction on Eritrea’s economic and mining sectors.

Ethiopian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegne, has asked United Nations Security Councils that remittances should not be included in any sanctions regime that may be imposed on Eritrea.

He made the above statement in the Informal Interactive Dialogue with Security Council members’ held on July 19 following Eritrea’s request. Also present are Kenya, Uganda, Djibouti and Somalia. Continue reading
