British Embassy officials [On March 14, 2007] provided additional details about the kidnapping and release of the five Europeans by the Afar Revolutionary Democratic Union Front (ARDUF).

The British officials also shared a report issued by the Government of the State of Eritrea (GSE) which outlined its efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped Europeans. President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from the President of the State of Eritrea Mr. Issaias Afwerki.

The special message was delivered yesterday to President Museveni at State House, Entebbe by the Eritrean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Osman Saleh.

President Museveni and the Eritrea Minister discussed issues of bilateral interest between Uganda and Eritrea. They also reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of strategic partnership with Uganda. Continue reading
